Couple In Open Marriage Has Third Wheel Move In To Fight Inflation: 'I Switch Beds Every Two Nights'

How bad is Joe Biden's economy? We now have open-marriage couples being forced to invite their third wheel into their homes to fight inflation and a crappy housing market.

Bidenomics, baby!

That's exactly what's happened to a polyamorous couple in Richmond, Virginia, who recently welcomed their partner into their home just to make ends meet.

Poly mom Jennifer Martin told the New York Post this week that her and husband Daniel had to invite partner Ty into their home due to financial difficulties.

"Daniel and I definitely struggled financially before Ty moved in," Martin said. "Housing was particularly bad in this area.

"We’re really happy, we get along great, and my kids are thriving with three partners."

Polyamorous couple gets innovative in this economy

Honestly, it's probably not the worst move if you're into that sort of thing – and Jennifer and Dan have been into it for nearly a decade now.

The two lovebirds got married back in 2008 (another booming time for the housing market!) and had two kids. Seven years later, they decided to open up their marriage to any interested free agents on the market.

Some build through the draft, some choose free agency. Whatever floats your boat, I reckon.

Anyway, Jennifer met Ty three years later and he quickly became her boyfriend. When the pandemic started in 2020, the Martins fell on tough times and had to think of a Plan B.

Enter Ty, who moved in and helped shoulder the load. The trio spent around $1,537 a month on the house, with boyfriend Ty paying $700 for his share.

Like any good roommate, he also paid for utilities and WiFi. Recently, the happy trio upgraded thanks to their $155k yearly income and splurged for a 4-3 home.

Luckily, the extra bedroom didn't cause any major problems.

"I switch beds between Ty’s room and Daniel’s room every two nights, and I have a basket that I carry from room to room with my nighttime essentials like my face wash, night cream, night guard and the book I’m reading … I try to make it as fair as possible for sleeping arrangements between Ty and Daniel," Jennifer explained, adding that not only are the two fellas also seeing other people, but she's also in quite the love triangle on the side.

"I have two more casual relationships as well, with a woman and a man who both also date each other,"she said.

What a twist! Good luck keeping up with this little family tree. Holidays must be an absolute headache to figure out.

Anyway, the bottom line here is the economy stinks and we're all just trying to make it through, by any means necessary. Some folks pick up a second job at Instacart, others invite their boyfriend to live with her and her husband, and the two kids.

Different strokes for different folks.

"Polyamory is becoming more common, and it’s not going away any time soon, so I think critics should get over it and go ahead and get used to the idea," Jennifer added.
