Couple Attempts To Raise Money For Charity In Hopes Of Stopping Littering By Hooking Up On Trash-Filled Beach
There are moments in all of our lives when we encounter something that causes us to rise above our own selfish wants and needs. It grabs us by the collar, gives us a good shake, and makes us realize there are important things that we can lend a helping hand to.
For travel influencer and content creator Kaylee Killion and her partner in crime, Cody Nelson, one such moment occurred during a recent visit to the beach. The couple hit the pause button on their own personal quest for a noble cause - to raise awareness and urge people to stop littering.
The couple, known as The Naughty Travellers on Instagram, were in Puerto Rico last weekend when they came across a trash-filled beach and decided to do something about it.
"We came across this beach on a drive and noticed how horribly littered it was," said Kaylee told JamPress.
"There’s no trash cans available for pickup and there’s a lot washed up from the ocean. There’s also trash from the public left on the sand and hanging in trees."
The couple started to clean the beach before taking a break and coming up with a way they could make an impact on a larger scale. Kaylee said, "After hours of picking up trash, we stopped for a break and one thing led to another, and I couldn’t keep my hands off Cody."
Some Choose To Use Their Power For Evil And Some Choose To Use It For Good
That's when they decided to make some OnlyFans content on the beach and use it to help raise money for charity. They hope to raise $10,000 which they will then donate to Rescate Playas Borinquen in Aguadilla.
"Spent the day cleaning up one of Puerto Rico’s dirtiest beaches but the video we made is dirtier," they captioned one of their social media money-raising announcements.
"20% of the earnings are being donated to an organization that helps clean up beaches and spread awareness about the environmental impacts of pollution."
They want to use their platform as a way to get the message out. She added, "We are hoping to not only raise funds for the organization of our choice, Rescate Playas Borinquen, but also awareness on the seriousness of beach pollution and how it can affect wildlife, as well as the environment."
"I hope this can make a valuable difference."
Now that's how you raise awareness. There's no need for a long-winded preachy holier than thou message that nobody wants to hear. Kaylee is using her platform and the power of content to get the word out. We can all get behind that. Who doesn’t want clean beaches?
