Couple Addicted To Naked Cruises Have Dropped $40k On Them
What happens when a couple of nudists discover clothing-optional cruises? Well, of course, they become hooked on them and drop tens of thousands of dollars as repeat customers.
Michael Brown, 56, and his wife Laurie, 50, took their first naked cruise back in 2015, and are now addicted to the clothing-free way of traveling. To date, they've spent $40,000 on their annual voyages.
"I told my wife that from here on out I won’t do any clothed cruises," Michael, a retired government enforcement officer, told SWNS.
"It’s the polar opposite of a clothed cruise. You’re paying for the premium of being naked."
Now, before you get any ideas about booking one of these trips for your next vacation, you should know that these two are professionals. They didn't wake up one day and simply book a naked cruise out of the blue.
They've spent their entire 20-year marriage as nudists. The kind of nudists that do their cooking, cleaning, and raising of their two kids without any clothes on at all.
When you're already naked the majority of the time at home, hitting the open seas and visiting places like Aruba and the Dominican Republic with strangers in the buff isn't as bizarre of a situation.
People also assume that the trips turn into a giant floating orgy as well. That's not the case. Michael said, "They are pretty strict on the fact that it’s a naturist environment…there’s no sexual activity at all."
These cruises include all of the activities of a normal cruise with the added benefit of being able to do them without any clothes on. They offer yoga, a gym, there are comedy shows, and even gambling at the casino.
The Couple Finds The Naked Cruises To Attract More Pleasant People
You can even get into some fun on the slides at the water park, or maybe some putt putt golf is more your speed. There's something for almost ever type of nudist out there.
The notion that the only appeal of these types of cruises is to be naked around other naked people isn't true. According to Michael, the cruisers on their naked voyages are much nicer than the ones on the stuffy, fully-clothed cruises.
"I find people to be rude on clothed cruises and everyone has their face in a phone," Michael, who says he met two of his closest friends on a naked cruise. While those on the clothing-optional cruises are "courteous and hyper-aware of being kind and friendly."
"A lot of clothed cruisers go for the ship, or the harmony of the sea, whereas the nude cruise it's the opposite," he added. "It’s not about the boat — you’re going because of the people and the friends you’re going to meet."
See there's nothing weird about going on naked cruises. So what people are walking around without clothes on.
Naked cruises have very little to do with the nudity, despite that being one glaring difference in the types of cruises. It's all about the friends you make along the way.
