Clay Travis: 'The View Might Be The Dumbest Show On Television'
Tuesday night, ABC announced that Whoopi Goldberg had been suspended for two weeks from her role on The View after she argued that the Holocaust was not about race.
“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments,” according to a statement from Kim Godwin, president at ABC News. “While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”
And as normal, it took OutKick founder Clay Travis to cut through the nonsense here and get down to the business at hand.
"The View might be the dumbest show on television," Clay said Tuesday. "That's saying something, I know, but the opinions that come out of The View are consistently left-wing and insanely dumb."
"Whoopi Goldberg is incredibly, historically unintelligent in the argument that she is making," Clay continued. "But, I do not believe that she should be canceled."
As ABC stated Tuesday night, Goldberg will in fact be canceled -- for two weeks -- until this firestorm passes and The View once again returns to railing against Trump, Jan. 6, the unvaccinated, and whatever else the show producers think will fire up suburban white women.
Clay finished off his segment on The View by calling Whoopi "a complete and total idiot."
Monday, Goldberg apologized for her Holocaust remarks.
“So yesterday on our show, I misspoke,” Goldberg announced. “I said that the Holocaust wasn’t about race and it was instead about man’s inhumanity to man. But it is indeed about race, because Hitler and the Nazis considered the Jews to be an inferior race. Now, words matter and mine are no exception. I regret my comments as I said and I stand corrected. I also stand with the Jewish people, as they know, and as you all know because I’ve always done that.”
