Classified Docs 'Credibly' Suggest COVID Originated From Wuhan Lab Leak, Covered up by CCP

It has been over 15 months since the U.S. Department of Energy assessed that the Covid pandemic "most likely" originated in a lab in Wuhan. Earlier this month, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic reviewed classified State Department records that suggest the same.

Fox News Digital obtained a letter Committee Chairman Brad Wenstrup sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on May 7, requesting he declassify the records to "share the truth" about the origins of Covid.

Wenstrup claims the documents also state that the Chinese Communist Party "attempted to cover up the lab leak" before it spread globally. "[China]  acted to prevent, and in fact obstructed, a fulsome investigation into these matters."

"The American people deserve to see the information that is hidden under these redactions," Wenstrup wrote.

"We write to you today to request that you immediately take steps to declassify this information such that the American people have a more complete picture of the government’s evidence regarding the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Wenstrup urged Blinken to give a staff-level briefing on the records before May 14.

It's now May 20.

We have yet to see Wenstrup's letter cited on any of the broadcast networks: CBS, ABC and NBC.

Covid-19 was first discovered in a patient some 400 yards from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where Chinese researchers studied bat coronavirus and practiced gain-of-function research.

Yet Dr.Anthony Fauci and the U.S. media immediately dismissed the "lab leak theory." They assured us for three years that the locations of the lab and the Patient Zero were a mere coincidence.

Some journalists were not allowed to question the once prevailing narrative that Covid originated via "natural exposure" from an infected animal.

Notably, a report from 2022 claimed that a top editor at the New York Times instructed staffers not to investigate the origins of the virus. The Times only permitted its "journalists" to refer to the virus as one of a zoonotic origin.

The hall monitors of information then named-and-shamed anyone who wondered aloud about a lab origin as "conspiratorial" and "racist."

For a reminder:

It's as if they are all read from the same script.

Further, if you don't believe the U.S. Department of Energy or the subcommittee, perhaps you'll find a study by two impartial scientists worth your time.

On June 6, 2021, Dr. Steven Quay and Dr. Richard Muller published their research in an article for The Wall Street Journal. "The science suggests a Wuhan lab leak," the doctors concluded.

Their suspicions first arose after learning that three researchers who worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill with Covid-like symptoms in late 2019 as they helped conduct "gain-of-function" research.

Gain-of-function research, at the center of the lab leak theory, involves supercharging viruses to increase how lethal they are. Leaked emails now show that Dr. Fauci and other scientists discussed this specific research and Covid "unusual features" in early 2020, raising suspicions of a cover-up.

The doctors then realized that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, contains the genetic sequence CGG-CGG. That double combination has never been found naturally in other SARS-related diseases.

"Although the double CGG is suppressed naturally, the opposite is true in laboratory work. The insertion sequence of choice is the double CGG. That’s because it is readily available and convenient, and scientists have a great deal of experience inserting it. An additional advantage of the double CGG sequence compared with the other 35 possible choices: It creates a useful beacon that permits the scientists to track the insertion in the laboratory," explained Dr. Quay.

"Now the damning fact. It was this exact sequence that appears in CoV-2. Proponents of zoonotic origin must explain why the novel coronavirus, when it mutated or recombined, happened to pick its least favorite combination, the double CGG. Why did it replicate the choice the lab’s gain-of-function researchers would have made?"

In layman's terms, the double CGG sequence suggests CoV-2 was manmade.

If the virus leaked from a lab, as science and research overwhelmingly suggest, China is responsible for global mass murder and the world's biggest criminal cover-up since the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

And worse, organizations and individuals, like the National Institute of Health and Dr. Fauci, helped fund the research to create the virus. They are complicit.

Conclusively, Americans and citizens of all nations deserve to know what the government (really, the Deep State) knows about the origins of Covid-19. The pressure is on Antony Blinken to declassify those records.

We don't suspect he will. Nor anyone else.

If history proves anything, public figures in power protect the shadow government at all costs, for their own sake.

Understanding the truth about the origins of Covid is how we combat future pandemics and government-induced lockdowns. No wonder we know so little, four years later.

Update: Post-publication, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) principal deputy director Lawrence Tabak admitted to Congress that U.S. taxpayers funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China in the months and years before the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Dr. Tabak," asked Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, "did NIH fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through [Manhattan-based nonprofit] EcoHealth [Alliance]?"

"It depends on your definition of gain-of-function research," Tabak answered. "If you’re speaking about the generic term, yes, we did."

In other words, yes.
