Chick-Fil-A Is Kicking The Tires On Pizza Because There Are No Rules Anymore

When it comes to restaurants, I'm a traditionalist who likes the "stay in your lane" approach. It bugged the hell out of me a couple of years ago when Burger King threw caution to the wind and said, "It's high time we put a taco on the menu!"

I didn't try the Burger King taco and honestly, I don't think I've eaten at Burger King since I was in college. It's just that I like for there to be some degree of order in the universe.

However, one fast food stalwart is testing something well outside of its lane that got my attention… Guys, Chick-fil-A just went off the board and is giving pizza a go.

Specifically, pizza topped with their chicken nuggets, signature sauce, and pickles that they're calling the Chick-fil-A Pizza Pie.

That both fascinates and horrifies me… still, I think I'd be giving it a go in the name of science.

According to Fox Business, the chicken-slangin' chain is selling this at its test kitchen called Little Blue Menu in College Park, Maryland. The nugget pizza is one of several offerings it's currently testing out.

By the way, the University of Maryland is in College Park and is there a better group of test subjects for pizza topped with fried chicken than a bunch of hungover college kids?

Aside from maybe documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, absolutely not.

This Is One Of Several Pizzas Chick-Fil-A Is Trying Out

There's basically. a pizza combine happening in College Park, Maryland right now.

The company is testing out some more traditional pizzas too, including one with the almost hilarious name "Meats-N-Veg Pizza Pie".

Throw one more veg on there and you've got yourself a real laugher.

Another item is the "Buff-lo-Ranch Pizza Pie" which is exactly what it sounds like.

Look, I love Buffalo wings as much as the next fella, but I think it's time we raise Buffalo chicken-flavored foods to the rafters. They've had a good run but they're getting a little long in the tooth. Step aside and let some new flavors in on the big dance.

I still think rolling into Chick-fil-A and ordering a pizza would be bizarre, but it wouldn't be a first. There's a McDonald's in Orlando, Florida that sells pizzas, as well as pasta, and a cheesesteak.

Why? I have no idea, but it's just another example of the anarchy going on in the food world these days… but as I said, I would take that Chick-fil-A pizza for a test drive.

That actually sounds pretty good.
