Shane Gillis returned to Saturday Night Live

Shane Gillis rose from the ashes of a cancelation that cost him a spot on the Saturday Night Live cast back in 2019.  His return to SNL last night as the show's host was a highly anticipated one.

It got me to tune in and his monologue delivered.  It was funny, it was uncomfortable at times, and it undoubtedly pissed people off.  What more could you ask for?

The rest of the show, including the cold open that they slid in before Gillis' monologue, wasn't all that great.  Gillis killed in the skits I saw that he was in (hand up I didn't watch the whole show), but the rest of the show that I did watch leaves a lot to be desired.

Saturday Night Live is doing the kind of comedy these days that doesn't produce a lot of laughs.  Which is tough if you're trying to pass as a culturally relevant comedy show.

Anyway, here's Gillis' monologue.  If you're like most of the band behind him, and have something jammed so far up your butt that you're having a hard time sitting, you're probably not going to like it.

For everyone else, here you go:

How do you transition from that?  How about with a wheelchair-bound building manager deciding to fight an Amazon delivery driver?

Wheelchair-bound building manager throws hands with an Amazon delivery driver

This all went down in the lobby of a Notting Hill building the day after Valentine's Day.  Apparently, these two were through spreading the love and decided the only course of action was to throw hands.

According to the Daily Mail, the building manager, Ramin Razzaghi, wasn't happy with the location where the Amazon delivery driver unloaded the packages.  He tries to grab the delivery driver's bag then follows him from the lobby back to the front entrance.

The manager, who is reportedly in a wheelchair due to a workplace injury, grabs the delivery driver before he can leave the building.  The driver responds by punching the manager.

In a moment that I don't think anyone saw coming, the manager stands up out of the wheelchair as he's wrestling with the delivery man and throws a punch.  I was not expecting that at all.

The manger falls to the ground and during the action grabs hold of the delivery man's leg and refuses to let go.  The scuffle spills out onto the sidewalk in front of the building and some passersby get involved.

The manager ultimately winds up on the losing end of things.  All of this over a few packages?

Worth it?  I highly doubt it.  I'll tell you what has a lot of potential to be worth it, and that's the wait for Blue Mountain State's return.  There's a sequel in the works and I can't wait.

A Blue Mountain State sequel is in the works

If you know what Blue Mountain State is, you already know how awesome it is.  Kids, look it up.  There are reports that a sequel series to the 2010 comedy is in the works.

The best part of the news might be that Alan Ritchson is returning to his role as Kevin "Thad" Castle.  The co-leads from the original series, Darin Brooks and Chris Romano, are also expected to be part of the sequel.

Negotiations are reportedly ongoing, but the series could wind up on Amazon or Netflix when all is said and done.  Lionsgate Television is said to be producing the sequel, and the show's creators, Chris Romano and Eric Falconer, are also rumored to be back.

Count Johnny Manziel among the many fans of the show who can't wait.  In fact, he wants to make an appearance in the new series.

What a start to a Sunday and you haven't even hit the Instagram models portion of the column.  It doesn't get much better than that.  Comedy is making a big comeback and that's great news for everyone.

I'll see everyone next Sunday and, for the love of everything that is good, send me some alien or Bigfoot content this week.  There hasn't been enough of it lately and I really need it in my viens.
