Sylvester Stallone Moving From California To Florida, Casey DeSantis Welcomes Him To The Free State

Add Sylvester Stallone to the growing list of people fleeing blue states.

On the latest episode of the reality show The Family Stallone, the legendary actor informed his three daughters that he and his wife Jennifer planned to move from California to Florida.

The couple decided it was time for a relocation after their daughters all moved out. Sophia, 27, and Sistine, 25, moved in together in New York City, and Scarlet, 21, headed off to college at the University of Miami.

"It’s an empty nest," Jennifer explained. "I need to change it up."

Sly says he's already purchased a new home, and he's ready to put his California mansion on the market.

Meanwhile, the Sunshine State is welcoming the Stallones with open arms. Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis posted a message to Sylvester and Jennifer Friday on X.

"Welcome to the Free State of Florida!" DeSantis wrote. "In addition to respecting and protecting your God-given, constitutional right to be free, you can also buy toothpaste without having an armed guard in CVS unlock it for you."

Sylvester seemed a bit reluctant to make the move. In fact, it was Jennifer's idea. Since she raised all three daughters in California, their current home is full of "memories of them not being there anymore."

When she brought up the idea, Sly said he owed it to his wife to give her what she wanted.

"We have a lot of roots in California, so it’s not an easy transition to Florida," he said in a confessional. "But Jennifer really had her heart set on it. I gave in."

So, in fairness, the Stallones' move doesn't seem to be politically motivated.

But I hear those reality TV checks cash a lot harder without state income tax. And the freedom to grab your own toothpaste is nice, too.
