Heptathlete Georgia Ellenwood Goes IG Official With Adley Rutschman After MLB All-Star Red Carpet Appearance
A very proud Georgia Ellenwood made an announcement on social media Thursday. The Canadian Olympic heptathlete went Instagram official with Baltimore Orioles star catcher Adley Rutschman.
The announcement comes a couple of days after the 28-year-old Wisconsin Badgers alum was spotted on the MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet with the first overall selection in the 2019 MLB Draft. It also comes weeks after she shared a hint at the relationship with a post that said bird watching was her new hobby.
Ellenwood switches from a Blue Jays hat to an Orioles one in the post. She's also standing on what looks like the field at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in her Orioles hat and an orange top.
That had her more than 745k followers asking questions. But the NCAA champion, self-described earth lover, Under Armour Canada athlete, and twitch streaming gamer wasn't ready to let the cat out of the bag just yet.
She first needed to hit the red carpet with the two-time All-Star. Ellenwood captioned the announcement, which showed her alongside Rutschman for the All-Star Game festivities, "Not very sporty attire .. 🫢 All Star red carpet!!! I was sweating more than during a heptathlon!! Very proud ᵕ̈"
Adley Rutschman And Georgia Ellenwood Prepare For A Strong Second Half Of The Season
Rutschman is in his third season in the Major Leagues. He's the stud switch hitting catcher on the American League East's first place team.
He's hitting .275 with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs on the season, his second All-Star worthy start.
It was only a matter of time before he went from shooting his shot with reality TV stars to hitting the red carpet with a smokeshow. The fact that Ellenwood is also an athlete makes it even better.
She understands the ups and downs of being an athlete and can relate to all the hard work that goes into competing at the highest level. That means things will be drama free off the field.
That's important as Rutschman and the Orioles prepare for a strong second half of the season run. There will be nothing but bird watching from Ellenwood.
