Brazilian Model Treated For Hypothermia After Going Topless During A Shoot In Iceland

Brazilian model Cris Galera is willing to go above and beyond for the perfect shot. Even if going above and beyond lands her in the hospital with hypothermia.

That's exactly how the former Playboy Playmate got her New Year started. She was in Iceland as the calendar turned to 2024 and while there decided it was the perfect opportunity to strip down, despite the warnings she was receiving from others.

"I love to be naked and when I was in Iceland I thought, why not here?" Galera told The Sun.  Well, for starters, the freezing cold weather is one reason why you don't get naked in Iceland.

That wasn't a good enough reason for Galera.  She let the idea bounce around in her head for a few days before finally deciding to go for it.

Although, she's not completely insane. She did wear some clothing while ignoring warnings from people who were telling her that it was a bad idea as she stripped down.

"Everyone looked at me when I was taking off my clothes," she said. "They were saying, 'Don't do this, you will die, and the police will come, because you cannot be naked in this place.'"

After dipping her toes in the extreme cold with the swimwear, Galera decided it was time to lose her top.  She did that in front of Iceland's most monitored volcano.

"It was a challenge and I risked my life, as I was freezing, but nudity is in my blood, and it was a risk that was worth it," she said. It wasn't until after the photo shoot that she started to second guess what she had just done.

"Afterward, I thought, 'Oh, my God, are you crazy?  Why did I do this?'  But I did it," she said.  "My hands became hard, red, and freezing. It hurt a lot, but when I look back now, it was the best thing I did in my life because I never saw a place so beautiful and amazing as Iceland."

As Galera had been warned, the police did show up and put an end to her crazy photo shoot. It turns out stripping off your clothes for pictures near families and children is frowned upon in Grindavík.

The arrival of the police turned out to be the least of the model's worries.  She had to be taken to the hospital after being exposed to the cold for too long.

"It was not good for me because I got hypothermia," Galera said.  "I stayed almost 10 minutes without my coat."

"The maximum you can stay is three minutes, but I wanted to make a lot of videos, a lot of photos, and I was almost dying."

She was treated by the medical professionals and eventually nursed back to health. All in all, it took her about an hour for her to recover.

Despite the hypothermia, Galera has plans to return to Iceland to finish some unfinished business.  She said, "I love Iceland.  I want to live there next year because is amazing. It is incredible."

"It was my dream to see a volcano, but Grindavík was closed for everybody, and we couldn't see it, so to mark my life there, I decided to be naked in front of the Grindavík sign.  I couldn't enter, but my boobies were there."

Those are words to live by.  If you're unable to enter somewhere, make sure your boobs make an appearance.  It won't be the last time Cris Galera takes that approach.  She has an AI takeover to fight back against after all.
