Blake Lively Flips Attempted Cancelation On Its Head, Sues 'It Ends With Us' Co-Star For Sexual Harassment

Actress Blake Lively was under attack from all sides over the summer after the release of the movie It Ends With Us. She was hit with a cancelation full-court press.

We're talking about tactics like digging up comments she made more than a decade ago. This came as reports surfaced that she and her male feminist co-star Justin Balboni were feuding during filming.

It was reported at the time that he allegedly fat shamed the 37-year-old actress who had given birth before filming had started and held kissing scenes too long.

Needless to say, the cancelation attempt didn't go well. People flocked out to the movie anyway, and she kept partying with her A-list friends like nothing ever happened.

That was until last week, when Lively filed a lawsuit against her co-star for alleged sexual harassment and a coordinated effort to do serious damage to her reputation.

Fox News reports that the complaint against Baldoni was filed with the California Civil Rights department and details allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional affliction of emotional distress, negligence and more.

Lively had reportedly addressed her concerns during a meeting with Baldoni and Jamey Heath, CEO of the production studio Wayfarer and others. The court documents state that some of the demands addressed were that no more nude videos or images of women be shown to the actress.

She wanted no more mention of Baldoni's or Heath's prior porn addiction. She didn't want to hear about their personal sex stories or their descriptions of their genitalia. She didn't want them to continue to add sex scenes that weren’t in the original scripts.

Lively also didn’t want any more discussions about her weight or her deceased father, just to name some of what was discussed during this meeting. Everyone agreed to the terms of what had been discussed.

However, she claims in the complaint filed against Baldoni that, despite the agreement, he executed and participated in a "social manipulation" campaign to "destroy" her career and reputation. 

Lively's attorneys included text messages from a couple of public relations professionals they were able to get through subpoena to back those claims.

And just like that, the entire cancelation attempt was flipped on its head. After Blake Lively filed her lawsuit, Baldoni was dropped by the talent agency WME, reports Deadline.

It's like Fire Marshall Bill - or someone as equally qualified to give their opinion - used to say, sometimes you get burned when you play with fire.
