Black Hawk Down Vet Shares Funny Donkey Story From Battle

Even in the darkest of moments, there can be something that makes people laugh.

I spoke with Battle of Mogadishu veteran Brad Thomas back in 2022 on American Joyride, and a clip from the interview recently resurfaced that I totally forgot about:

The story of the donkey in Black Hawk Down.

Yes, there's a legendary story involving a donkey during the battle in Somalia in October 1993. Multiple American helicopters were shot down, Delta Force operators and Army Rangers - the unit Brad was with at the time - fought like hell against a city turned loose. It was horror beyond imagination, but against all odds, some guys were bewildered by what they saw unfold with a donkey.

You can watch his comments starting around 1:24:00, and make sure to send me your thoughts to David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

While the horrors of the Battle of Mogadishu were beyond words, it's always interesting to hear that among all the carnage and chaos, there was something that made the guys chuckle. Also, if you haven't listened to Brad's music with his Silence & Light, I suggest you check them out. Make sure to also follow along at all the socials below:
