Big 'Wack': McDonald's Prices Have Tripled In 10 Years

We used to be a country, a proper fast-food, finger lickin' country.

That was until one started actually looking at how expensive the once cheap fast-food option has become and a new graph showing just how much more we are paying is giving true "WTF?" vibes.

Check out the visual graph here:

WHEN FAST FOOD ISN'T AFFORDABLE ANYMORE

According to the study by FinanceBuzz and visualized by Carbon Finance, McDonald's prices have tripled in the past 10 years - with the McChicken sandwich up 199 percent alone during that time period.

Those medium french fries you used to be able to purchase with a couple of quarters lying around your car? Yeah, they've gone from $1.59 to $3.79!

WTF indeed, my friends.

In a statement, McDonald's said that many of their prices are set by individual franchises and disputed Carbon Finance's prices. However, the research company says that it used historical data points to "to create a reasonable representation of national pricing trends over time for the chain." Anyone who has been out to eat lately would most likely agree.

You want to know when you know that the economy is in trouble? It's when people stop going to fast food chains because even those are too expensive. We've all seen the trend continue to just go upwards with no signs of slowing down.

A few months ago, a TikTok video went viral of a Connecticut McDonald's selling a McDonald's Big Mac Meal for $18!

And let's not talk about the hash browns!

IT'S NOT JUST MCDONALD'S

There was a reason I wrote about Taco Bell a few months ago in "Make Fast Food Cheap Again" and the chain's ridiculous price hikes on what was once its go-to cheap tacos.

According to FinanceBuzz, Taco Bell, Chipotle, Jimmy John's and some other fast food franchises have raised their prices more than double the inflation rate.

Here's a tip for any politician running for office - if you want to win the people back, focus on their stomachs, not pseudo-global warming hysteria, but rather by making fast food affordable for all!
