Apple TV's MLB Girl Has The Internet Buzzing With This Aaron Judge Interview

Apple TV found itself back in the MLB spotlight Friday when it rolled out a pair of high-profile games on it's streaming-only service.

The first? Yanks-Astros. After that? Cardinals-Dodgers.

If you're like me, you were immediately pissed last night when you went to watch Shohei Ohtani bat in the first inning because you bet him to have OVER 1.5 total bases and you couldn't find it anywhere because it was tucked away in the Apple TV closet.

Shohei, by the way, went 0-4 and cost me $100 last night. He clearly had the under working. Respect.

Anyway, I'm not here to dump on Apple TV today. I think it's all a little goofy at this point with the billion different ways to watch a simple baseball game, but that's not the point.

The point of this Saturday morning blog is to introduce the world the Apple TV sideline reporter Tricia Whitaker, who grabbed the internet's attention with this below Aaron Judge interview:

Tricia Whitaker takes the internet by storm

I mean, there are obviously a couple takeaways here. We'll start with the first …

Tricia here is getting dragged through the mud today because she dared to call Aaron Judge the Captain. That's a big no-no in NYC. That title obviously belongs to Derek Jeter.

No matter who wears the C for the rest of time in New York, Derek Jeter will always be the captain.

Now, I personally think the Jeets was overrated back in the day and people who think he was this great player are silly. He was good, but he was no Nomar Garciaparra. There, I said it.

Nomar > Jeter. Easy call.

I don't feel like getting the crazies all riled up today, though, so let's move on to the second takeaway …

Tricia here is just the latest in a recent run of internet stars. You had Sad Kentucky Fan last weekend, then the Ohio news girl earlier this week, and now Tricia.

What a run!

Hey, Gary – settle down. It's fine attire. It's called having class, look it up.

Tricia, by the way, is also being called out on Twitter for being a traitor because her day job is to report on all things Tampa Bay Rays for Bally Sports.

Sorry, Tampa. I love y'all, but she ain't ever coming back. Once you find the spotlight, you don't walk away from it.

It's time for Tricia to carve her own path in the sports reporting world. She's the next internet star, but she obviously won't be the last.

Frankly, with the run we're on lately, she may not be the last TODAY.

Go get 'em, Tricia!
