Airplane Chaos: Boeing Has Had 6 Plane Issues In 10 Days
Another day, another thing that went wrong with an airplane.
We already know that flying is stressful for many people. However, what has happened in recent weeks regarding numerous mechanical issues within Boeing planes is downright frightening.
In the past ten days alone, there have been six different issues.
NEAR DISASTERS ON BOEING AIRPLANES
That's not ideal for travelers who just want to throw in their headphones and watch old episodes of Seinfeld or listen to Joe Rogan's podcast before they fall asleep.
Instead, they've had to deal with everything from a midair jetfuel leak, to unexplained mechanical issues forcing emergency landings, to even a part of an Alaskan Airlines door panel blowing out during a flight! Oh, and let's not forget people being locked in the damn bathrooms!
Fortunately, nobody was hurt during these incidents, but excuse me for saying we should probably get this figured out, no? 30,000 feet in the air doesn't seem like the best place to deal with a crisis. Life was so much easier when all we had to deal with were fistfights over people not wanting to wear masks.
BOEING IS NOT COOPERATING WITH INVESTIGATIONS
To make matters even worse, yesterday the NTSB announced the results of its preliminary investigations into Boeing and the Alaskan Airlines door panel issue, and it's an absolute mess.
According to investigators, Boeing had conveniently recorded over surveillance footage that they requested of the door panel being installed. Of all the tapes to overwrite, it had to be that one!
And if that wasn't enough, when Jennifer Homnedy, chairperson of the NTSB Safety Board requested the names of those who worked on the door she was stonewalled by Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun.
"He stated he was unable to provide that information," Homendy wrote in an update to Congress regarding how the investigation was going.
In response to Boeing's recent debacles, some passengers have vowed not to fly any of their airlines. A new booking platform called "Alternative Airlines" has gone viral in recent days. The app allows people to choose flight routes that don't include any Boeing aircraft.
Godspeed for anyone who is flying soon!
