Airline Brawls: Reclined Seat Leads To Fisticuffs On American Airlines
A brawl broke out Sunday on an American Airlines flight over a seat-reclining issue, according to Austin, Texas police who detained two men who threw haymakers at each other in what you'd typically see on an episode of Budget Airlines Brawls.
According to police, the two men were punching each other as the plane sat at the gate after flying from New Orleans. "When the plane finally landed in Austin and the seatbelt sign was turned off, both men jumped up and physically started fighting each other," an eyewitness told reporters.
I have to be honest, I didn't expect these guys to wait until the seatbelt sign was turned off to start throwing punches. Who waits these days for the seatbelt light to go off before jumping out of their seat at the gate? Credit to them for following that rule before breaking the thou shall not punch each other rule.
It's still unclear whether either of the fighters were arrested. Typically in these situations, the fighters just want to get on with their vacations or go home, which results in the police calling it even and everyone goes home.
Chalk it up to people venting and call it a day.
