Actor Brian Cox Torches Joaquin Phoenix, Rips Donald Trump
Actor Brian Cox, most recently known for his role as Logan Roy in the hit HBO series ‘Succession,’ didn't hold back when it came to critiquing some of his fellow actors.
The Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Award Winner has quite the resume and decades of acting experience to give his opinion on things. Most recently he made headlines for slamming ‘woke culture' and the infatuation that some have with publicly shaming and canceling people.
However, this time the 77-year-old actor took his criticisms to some of Hollywood's greats during an appearance at London's ‘HistFest’ this past weekend.
HOT SEAT: JOAQUIN PHOENIX
"[Joaquin Phoenix's acting] is terrible," Cox said of the acting great's portrayal in the Oscar-nominated ‘Napoleon.’ "It was a truly terrible performance by Joaquin. It really is appalling. I don’t know what he was thinking. I think it’s totally his fault."
That's not just Napoleon you're dealing with there, Brian - but The Joker as well. I'd tread lightly if I were you.
To be fair, I don't know a single person that saw Napoleon and Cox says that's part of the problem, while also pulling a total Logan Roy with his brash cockiness.
"I would have played it a lot better than Joaquin Phoenix, I tell you that. You can say that [he brought] good drama, but that's a lie," Cox continued before ripping Phoenix's first name. "I think he is well named. Joaquin - kind of sounds wacky. It's a wacky performance."
Let's leave the jokes for the real comics, alright Brian?
WILL LEAVE COUNTRY IF TRUMP WINS
The international media then switched topics to something they can't get enough of, and that would be former President Donald Trump.
Despite being against woke culture, Brian isn't a fan of Trump whatsoever. At one point, he even boringly pulled out the ol' threat that he'd leave the country if Trump gets reelected. You know, the same hollow promise that much of liberal Hollywood has threatened in the past and never end up doing.
"It’s very hard to govern America and you certainly don’t need idiots like Trump doing that," Cox said before acknowledging something that even Democrats can't hide from anymore. "I do think that Biden is a good man but he’s too old."
LOGAN ROY COMES TO REAL LIFE
After going off on abortion rights and the country not being in a good position right now, Cox said that he would consider leaving America if Trump is reelected.
It appears that Brian Cox may be mixing fantasy with reality, as his recent interviews have come across as if he really is Logan Roy from Succession. One thing's for sure, he's not making any friends, just like Logan didn't either.
