FDA 'Intends' to Approve Moderna Vaccine This Week
More good news on the vaccine front. On Monday, healthcare workers began receiving the Pfizer vaccine. On Tuesday, the New York Times reported that the FDA "intends" to authorize use of the Moderna vaccine this coming Friday after a review from the government body found it to have a 94.1 percent efficacy rate in a trial of 30,000 people. This means that six million doses of the Moderna vaccine could be distributed as early as next week.
"Side effects, including fever, headache and fatigue, were unpleasant but not dangerous, the agency found," reports the Times.
