Tyron Woodley Says He Will Take On Jake Paul Right Now In The Ring, Says He'll 'Knock His Head Off'
The world of boxing is a strange place right now. From celebrities trying to make it legit, to those who have never thrown a punch, the sport is as unpredictable as it's ever been.
One polarizing figure who has been in the headlines of late is Jake Paul, who if you didn't know, is an American YouTuber, internet personality, actor, rapper and now "boxer."
While he has appeared on television, unless you follow him on YouTube or some other social network, you probably don't know who the 24-year-old Cleveland, Ohio native is.
He and others want that to change.
Tyron Woodley has another opinion. He thinks that the sport of boxing is being looked at as a joke because of guys like Paul. So now, the mixed martial artist is ready to step up and take Paul on himself.
Woodley has seen it all in MMA. He was the UFC Welterweight Champion when he defeated Robbie Lawler at UFC 201, and he went on to defend his title four times. He did eventually lose it.
Still Woodley has had plenty of amateur and professional experience since 2009. He competed at Strikeforce and was an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler for the Missouri Tigers.
"Jake Paul is -- well we kinda recognize he came from Disney. We expect him to be like this little f***ing macho macho man that he's playing, but he keeps calling out everybody but me," Woodley says.
"I'm the one with the real smoke with you."
Woodley spoke to TMZ about a potential fight with Paul and said that he isn't afraid to put his reputation and fighting history on the line against Paul.
The 39-year-old, known as 'The Chosen One,' says he's ready. The sooner that he and Paul can get it on, the better.
"If Jake dropped his ball sack out his stomach and signed the deal, then I think Floyd would be happy that I'd be the one to knock his f***ing head off," Woodley said.
