Vanderbilt Has Impossibly Low, Tempting Point Total Versus Texas A&M

We are neither advocating nor dissuading you from getting into some action, but a curious line has piqued our interest.

In a 7:30 game, Vanderbilt versus Texas A&M, the Commodores have a prop bet for a team total of just 6.5 points (also equally tempting and probably more bankable is that 25.5 first half over because A&M is going to score).

Line is accurate as of 3:15pm ET.

To be clear, Vanderbilt is a very risky play but just needing a touchdown is almost too tempting to let sit out there. Heck, even garbage time score plays.

The Commodores have lost the most players in the SEC to Covid opt-out, including offensive linemen Cole Clemens, Bryce Bailey, Jonathan Stewart and Stephen Spanellis.

The team listed FOUR players as 'or' at quarterback for the week: Junior college transfers Danny Clark and Jeremy Moussa as well as freshmen Ken Seals and Mike Wright have competed for the starting job. Mason said this week that he had recently trimmed the competition to two, but he would not reveal his starter.

For context, last season, four quarterbacks played for Vandy, and none returned. Receiver Cam Johnson is the only player on the roster to have completed a pass for the team last year, going 1-of-2 for 16 yards.

Where this over is exceedingly tempting is that Vandy has brought in new offensive coordinator Todd Fitch. Fitch is said to want to run an up-tempo passing game and without soft non-conference games to ready a team it could catch Texas A&M in a situation that it allows that lone touchdown.

Texas A&M certainly is not known as a defensive stalwart. It held only one FBS team under that total last season and none the season before.

The Aggies will score plenty with quarterback Kellen Mond starting his 35th game for the program and an SEC-leading 108 combined starts for the offensive line.
