Travis Kelce Admits Chiefs A Little Worried After Clunky Start
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admitted that the team’s slow start has caused some concern in the locker room, but he thinks that the timing of the problems is a good thing in the long run.
"You have to be concerned, right?" Kelce said. "But how you find what's wrong, and you fix what's wrong."
The star player and Super Bowl winner emphasized that the team isn’t suffering from massive chemistry or coaching issues, but rather “small mistakes” over the course of a game.
"You know, we've turned the ball over a lot, we missed tackles and it is what it is," Kelce said. "We have to be better all-around on the football field."
Kelce also said that he, himself, needs to improve his own route running and blocking, even when plays aren’t designed for him.
The Chiefs played much better Sunday against the struggling Philadelphia Eagles, winning the road game 42-30. But even with the win and 2-2 record, the Chiefs sit at the bottom of the highly-competitive AFC West—the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders all started the season with winning records.
Despite the slow start, the Chiefs remain the Super Bowl favorites (+550) according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Buccaneers (+600), fresh off a Foxboro win, and the red-hot Bills (+850) round out the top three Super Bowl favorites.
