Former SEC Quarterback Claims Italian Mob Offered $300K To Fix Game, Throws Alabama Under Bus

Former Vanderbilt quarterback Mo Hasan recently took to social media claiming that the Italian mob was paying players in the SEC to fix college football games during his time in the conference. 

During a recent podcast, the quarterback claimed that a member of the mob approached him at a bar in Nashville, where he offered Hasan $300,000 to fix a football game he was competing in. Not only is this a pretty bold claim to make, but throwing it out there that the mob was involved might not be the smartest thing to do. 

OutKick reached out to Vanderbilt Friday night to ask if they had any comment on if any type of investigation into the allegations occurred or if the school had any comment on potential gambling that occurred within the football program. 

The university declined to comment on the allegations, getting back to OutKick within 30 minutes. 

In the course of claiming that the mob was trying to entice him to play ball, Mo Hasan decided to reveal that the mob spokesperson told him that even Alabama players were involved in the scheme. 

"I was approached at Jason Aldean’s bar in Nashville by the Italian mob to fix football games," Mo Hasan said on the podcast. "He offered me $300,000. I went to get drinks and so I’m alone right now. I’m not with my friend group. He comes up to me. He offered me $300,000. He said, ‘For something like this, my clients pay $250 to $300K. For a game," Hasan said.

Hasan did not stop there, deciding to throw an opposing school at the time under the alleged bus. 

"He said we regularly talk to guys in your position about fixing games. He named guys in the SEC who, I don’t want to say their names because they’re in the NFL right now and that’s a bad deal. But, the University of Alabama, I will tell you that," Hasan said.

Ok, we've now reached the point of no return for Hasan. He's either making something up like this to get clout on social media for his podcast, or he's being dead serious. The former Vanderbilt quarterback played in seven games during his time in Nashville. After playing in seven games at Vandy for two seasons, he transferred to USC. 

On Friday evening, Hasan took to social media again to make a point about the mob not needing to pay off a player from Vanderbilt. 

"For those of you in my mentions saying the mob doesn’t need to pay off Vandy because we’ve lost a lot - you must not be familiar with prop bets lol," Hasan posted.

Hasan would go on to say that the mob spokesperson told him that ‘Almost every game in the SEC is rigged’, which drew gasps from the co-hosts, with one host not wanting to hear about the mob any further.
