Early Week 6 NCAAF Best Bets

There are a few early games this week that we are going to look to capitalize on. Last week, we went 2-1, hopefully, we can get a clean sweep this week.

Houston at Tulane

Houston opened this game as a -4 favorite and the line has already been bet up to -6.5 in their favor. Sometimes I don't understand the line movement, but in this case, I'm surprised that it didn't open higher. There really hasn't been anything positive about Tulane this season and Houston is coming off of a 45-10 victory over Tulsa where they were in control the whole game. Tulane has lost three straight games and only the game against UAB was even close. They've played pretty well in three of their five games, so maybe consistency is the issue here. I like Tulsa's Matthew Pratt, but he should have a hard time against Houston's defense. I'm playing Houston -6.5 at -110.

Temple at Cincinnati

I love Cincinnati. I think they have been underrated this season and last season. Now, it may be hard to call the #5 team in the nation underrated, but I think they should win out the rest of their season and make it into the College Football Playoff. And, aside from Alabama, I don't think I'd be comfortable taking any opponent against them. Friday night, they play Temple. The Bearcats are coming off an 11 point victory at Notre Dame. While they have no reason to struggle against Temple, this is their second game within a week, and when they are already up, I don't expect them to run up the score much. Temple has held their opponent under 42 points in every game aside from their opener against Rutgers. I'm playing the Bearcats under 41.5 points at -110.

Charlotte at Florida International

Charlotte has been a pretty good team thus far in the season, but they are allowing more yards than they are gaining. Somehow they still have a winning record. Florida International is allowing an eye-popping 502.8 yards per game. Now you have the yardage totals, look at the game totals. In the ten games they've played (not against each other) they've only had two games over the posted total of 60.5. Now, some have been close (like 59 points close) but just because two teams have mediocre offenses and bad defenses doesn't mean this is an over. I'm going to play the under at -108 because I think this game is closer to 56 points.
