Can Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever Extend Win Streak To Four Friday Vs. Atlanta?

One of the most popular athletes in sports steps on the hardwood Friday. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (6-10) meet the Atlanta Dream (6-7) at 7:30 p.m. ET at the State Farm Arena. Indy has won and covered three consecutive games, including a 91-84 home win as -2.5 favorites over Atlanta June 13th.

The Fever won despite Clark playing one of her worst games since being drafted first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Clark scored 7 points on 3-for-11 shooting (1-for-6 from three) with 7 turnovers. Two-time Dream All-Star, and 2022 No. 1 overall pick, Rhyne Howard put up a game-high 26 points.

Initially, I was all about the zigzag handicapping angle, which works for NBA betting. This is when you bet on the team that just lost or failed to cover in the rematch since it's hard to beat the same team twice in a short period in basketball. But, after seeing the injury reports, I'm taking the FEVER -2.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook.

Indiana Fever at Atlanta Dream Odds

  • Moneyline: Indiana (-140) | Atlanta (+118)
  • Spread: FEVER -2.5 (-110) | Dream +2.5 (-110)
  • Total — 163 — Over (-110) | Under (-110)

Howard is out Friday with an ankle injury and backup guard Aerial Powers is "questionable" with an illness. Howard leads Atlanta in scoring, assists, and steals and Powers is its leading 3-point shooter (minimum of 1.0 threes attempted per game). Six of the Dream's nine 3-pointers in their loss to the Fever recently came from Howard.

Also, since Howard is Atlanta's best defensive guard, I'm expecting a bounce-back game from Clark. Again, Howard was the first pick in 2022, and she probably circled her first game vs. Clark on the calendar. Plus, if the Fever can win on the road with Clark playing like crap then they should be able to handle the Dream sans their best player.

Finally, Atlanta averages the fewest points per game (PPG) in the WNBA at 75.7 PPG and Indiana has the worst defensive rating in the Association. However, without their leading scorer and assist thrower, the Dream won't be able to keep up with the Fever Friday.

BET Indiana -2.5 (-110) at Caesars. The Fever are playable up to -3.5.
