Vice President Kamala Harris' Memorial Day Message: 'Enjoy The Long Weekend'

On Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged the Memorial Day weekend with a tweet that failed to mention American veterans.

The embarrassingly glib recognition of Memorial Day has rightfully received a wave of criticism because of its lazy tribute to the important day.

Prior to Saturday's tweet, the vice president also received criticism for subtly wiping her hand after greeting South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Neither the tweet nor the hand wipe have garnered the attention of the largely supportive mainstream media.

Democrat leaders have attempted to push patriotism and American traditions out of the educational system and society in general for years now. The Oval Office even omitted the use of "God" on National Prayer Day.

The majority of Americans, especially those with family members who have served, appreciate the freedoms made possible by our veterans and see Memorial Day as an apolitical, unifying experience that commemorates those who have fought for our nation, regardless of political affiliation.

The Harris-Biden administration built their campaign on a message of unity to contrast themselves with Donald Trump's first term as president. However, they continue to lose ground with average Americans, and now 2024 looks daunting for Democrats.
