Vegas Ranks the Bubble Teams

Let's face it, the NCAA Tournament bubble is endlessly fascinating.

How do you decide who the final teams are?

It's incredibly entertaining.

And one of the reasons why it's so fascinating is because there are so many different ways to make the case for which teams should be in and which should be out. Do you give the greatest weight to RPI, final ten games, top 50 wins, top 200 losses, strength of schedule, consistency of performance, hot streak, you name it and you can make a case for just about any team on the bubble.

That's why they're on the bubble.

But how would Las Vegas assess these teams if they were playing games against each other?

In other words, which would Vegas consider to be the best teams?

Well, I asked my good buddy Todd Fuhrman at Caesar's Palace -- you can follow him on Twitter here -- to take the 12 most commonly discussed bubble teams and compare them head-to-head. The result is a graph below.

As you can see Vegas would rank the 12 bubble teams as follows:

1. Texas (11-0)

2. VCU (10-1)

3. Miami (9-2)

4. N.C. State (7-2-1)

5. Xavier (3-4-4)

5. Northwestern (3-4-4)

5. St. Joe's (3-4-4)

8. Tennessee (2-4-5)

8. Oregon (2-4-5)

10. Dayton (1-9-1)

11. South Florida (0-8-3)

12. Colorado State (0-11)
