UCF QB Dillon Gabriel Fractured Left Clavicle, No Time Frame On Return

UCF junior quarterback Dillon Gabriel suffered a fractured left clavicle on the final play of the game on Friday against the Louisville Cardinals, and the team announced he will be out indefinitely.

The Knights attempted a hook and ladder from their own 28-yard line when Gabriel's injury occurred. The play wasn’t successful and Gabriel was tackled awkwardly as he tried to lateral the ball, as OutKick previously reported.

Orlando Sentinel’s Jason Beede reported Gabriel was back up and walking off to the medical cart on his own power after the play before riding the cart to the locker room, but visibly in pain.

Gabriel said in a statement shared on his own social media that he won't need surgery but there isn't a timetable for his return.

"I'd like to start out by thanking my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and fans for all the love," Gabriel wrote in a statement shared to his social media. "Unfortunately, in last night's game I fractured my clavicle."

"Thank you to everyone for their support during this time. I know I'll be back better than ever," he wrote.
