Report: Notre Dame license plates could be coming to Ohio

Notre Dame football fans in Ohio could gain another way to show their school spirit if recently proposed legislation passes in the Buckeye State.

Cleveland.com reports House Bill 328 would add Notre Dame to the current list of 29 colleges and universities available for license plates Ohio residents can purchase for their vehicles.

The proposed Fighting Irish plates would cost $40 (on top of the usual charges involved with buying new plates), with $10 going to the Ohio BMV and the rest going to the South Bend, Ind., university with an earmark intended to send the money back to the state via grants and scholarships for Ohio residents.

All of the plates available now are for Ohio colleges, ranging from large public schools like Ohio State to small private schools such as Wittenberg University with fewer than 2,000 students.
