Regis Philbin has died at the age of 88.

Philbin's family released the following statement to People.com:

In 1988, the iconic television star began hosting Live! with Kathie Lee Gifford. Gifford departed after 15 years and was replaced by Kelly Ripa. Philbin left the show in 2011.
