Outkick's Top Ten Week Four

The 2014 season has already been insane and we still have a week left in September. I have no idea what's going to happen and neither do you. Hell, think about how hard of a job the committee would have right now if they had to pick four teams for the playoff. So what does Outkick's top ten look like? Here we go. Remember, in advance, Outkick ranks teams based solely on what we've seen on the field, not what we expected to see on the field.

1. Texas A&M

The Aggies against SMU was the easiest bet of the year so far. I honestly have no idea what Vegas was thinking considering that SMU hadn't scored a touchdown all season. (The Mustangs still haven't scored). The game coming up this weekend against Arkansas is going to be incredibly fascinating. I can't wait to see what's going to happen here. Arkansas might not throw the ball the entire game and A&M might not run it.

2. Baylor

Yeah, Yeah, I know Baylor hasn't played anybody, but Baylor only plays one team all season that can beat them -- Oklahoma on November 8th.

3. Oklahoma

Down 24-17 at West Virginia the Sooners outscored the Mountaineers 28-9 to take control of a game in Morgantown.

4. Alabama

This is the best offense Alabama has ever had. I probably have Bama ranked too low at number four in the country.

5. Auburn

Auburn didn't play well on the road at Kansas State. But how good does that 24 point win over Arkansas look right now?

6. Oregon

The Ducks couldn't block the Washington State defensive line out in Pullman in a game that the vast majority of you were already in bed for by the time it ended at two in the morning on the east coast.

7. Mississippi State

Some of you may think I'm overrating this win, but I don't think you can overrate a dominant performance on the road at night at LSU. This was a national coming out party for Dak Prescott and Dan Mullen.

Crazy thought, but could LSU be the 7th best team in the SEC West?

8. BYU

The Cougars have a really good shot of going 12-0. Look at their resume through four games and tell me who has been better on the field this year.

9. Ole Miss

Ole Miss's next game is Memphis. That's a bit of a trap game, but assuming the Rebels can handle the Tigers then how big is that Alabama at Ole Miss game going to be on October 4th? I'm jealous I won't be in the Grove.

10. Georgia

Sure, Georgia lost a game. But if Georgia played Florida State, Notre Dame or UCLA on a neutral field right now, who do you think would win? I think Georgia would.

I'm also going to give you the next best team in my top ten because so many of you ask.

11. Michigan State

I also think Michigan State would beat FSU, Notre Dame or UCLA on a neutral field so they're my tenth best team in the country.
