Marshall Long Snapper Breaks Down After Learning He's Officially On Scholarship

I told you guys a couple of weeks ago that I'll be going on a journey to bring you moments of good news here at Outkick. Over the weekend it was the story of a Toledo, Ohio firefighter who's also a boxer and saved a Top Rank Boxing official's life by performing CPR after the man collapsed during Friday's weigh-ins. DeAndre Ware lost his fight Saturday, but he'll be remembered for saving a life.

Today we go to Marshall University where redshirt junior long snapper Zach Appio, from Normal, Illinois, found out he's officially on scholarship after three years of sitting behind a four-year starter. Zach finally saw game action during Saturday's blowout 59-0 win against Eastern Kentucky.

"Words can't express how thankful I am for this program and those who have supported me on my journey," Appio wrote on Twitter. "I want to thank my parents for their unmatched love and support. I want to thank every coach from JFL to CCHS to here at Marshall for growing me into a better man and player."
These two combined for eight consecutive years
