Left-Wing Media Already Having Insane Reactions To Donald Trump Assassination Attempt

In the immediate aftermath of the assassination attempt of former United States President Donald Trump, the media coverage was mostly straightforward.

Even the largely liberal media simply reported the news of the shooting, the status of Donald Trump and the victims of the tragic event.

But as would be expected, some in the Liberal media quickly took the opportunity to use the assassination attempt to make political points.

Comedian Bill Maher accurately pointed out that the tragic incident helps Donald Trump politically, even though he was already a heavy favorite to re-capture the American presidency in November.

Thus, the left-wing media needs to try and use the event to counteract the potential gains. And some got right to work.

Forbes posted one of the more ridiculous stories about the assassination attempt with a headline that read, "Will Surviving Gunfire Be Donald Trump’s Next Appeal To Black Voters?"

That article was penned by someone named Shaun Harper, whose bio on the site reads, "I am a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) expert."

Well, then. Apparently, black people will identify with Trump because someone fired a gun at him? That seems … racist.

The article then goes on to advocate gun control and suggests that Trump won't talk about gun control in light of the incident, and that would be a failure on his part.

Blaming guns for shootings is an extremely predictable left-wing reaction, so Forbes will probably not be the only publication to go this route.

Then, there was CNN contributor Jamie Gangel. She said that Trump standing up after nearly being killed and saying "Fight!" to the crowd was an inappropriate reaction.

Personally, I've never been shot in the ear and, to my knowledge, Gangel hasn't been, either. Thus, neither one of us is truly qualified to suggest what an appropriate reaction might look like.

But she did it anyway.

Next up is The Atlantic, the company that employs OutKick favorite Jemele Hill. Atlantic writer David Frum penned a piece titled, "The Gunman and the Would-Be Dictator."

Frum used the opportunity to blame Donald Trump for the attack on his life. Moreover, Frum compares Trump to Benito Mussolini and suggests that Trump is a fascist.

"Fascist movements are secular religions. Like all religions, they offer martyrs as their proof of truth," Frum writes.

"The Mussolini movement in Italy built imposing monuments to its fallen comrades. The Trump movement now improves on that: The leader himself will be the martyr in chief, his own blood the basis for his bid for power and vengeance."

It's fascinating that the left-wing media is still peddling the idea of Donald Trump as a fascist dictator. If only there were some way to prove that wasn't true.

Alas, we can't prove it. It's not like Trump was already President of the United States for four years and didn't run a fascist dictatorship.

Oh, wait…

Let's move on, shall we? Sky News posted on social media, and later deleted, a post that blamed Trump for the assassination attempt.

None of this is all that surprising. Democrats and the left-wing media are in full-on panic mode about the upcoming United States presidential election.

Donald Trump is extremely likely to win, just as he did in 2016. That terrifies the left, so they have to take every opportunity to try and tear him down.

Even if that means making an assassination attempt on Trump's life the fault of the former president.

It's sad, but not particularly surprising.
