Kole Calhoun Has Great Reaction For Fan That Beat Him To Foul Ball

Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Kole Calhoun missed an easy foul ball when a young Braves fan got to it first on Friday, but can he really be upset?

During the Diamondbacks game against the Atlanta Braves, Calhoun had the chance to record an easy second out on a foul ball from Austin Riley but the ball made it into the glove of the young Braves fan first.

MLB.com reports the 13-year-old fan was attending his first game and came with a glove in hand.

"I knew I was going to be pretty close to the wall," Calhoun said, per MLB.com. "I thought I had a shot at it and went into the stands. To be honest, I didn’t really know what the rule was. I didn’t catch it and I looked at the kid and I kind of stared back to look at the umpire to see what exactly the rule is right there, and he’s calling foul ball and I’m like that was a heck of a play."

Calhoun said he told the young Braves fan it was a good catch.

"I just gave him knuckles and said, 'Nice catch, man,' tipped my cap to him and went back at it. That was a heck of a play," he said after the game.
