Joe Scarborough - Who Can't Stop Calling Trump Hitler - Doesn't Think Its Fair NBC Took 'Morning Joe' Off Air

MSNBC's parent company NBCUniversal News Group pulled "Morning Joe" off the air on Monday before its first broadcast since the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump.

CNN reported that chairman Cesar Conde made the decision in consultation with MSNBC president Rashida Jones and the hosts of the program. According to the report, the network feared the show "might make an inappropriate comment on live television that could be used to assail the program and network as a whole."

However, "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough says otherwise. He addressed thesituation Tuesday by criticizing the network for pre-empting his program on one of the most significant news periods of his career.

"We were told, in no uncertain terms, on Sunday evening, that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels yesterday," Scarborough said.

He then questioned why "Joe" was the only MSNBC program pulled from the lineup.

"That was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels. That we were going to stay as a network in breaking news mode throughout all day yesterday. That did not happen. We don’t know why that didn’t happen. Our team was not given a good answer as to why that didn’t happen, but it didn’t happen."

"We were very surprised," he continued. "We were very disappointed. And if we had known that there wasn’t going to be the one news feed from NBC News across all NBC News channels, Willie [Geist], we obviously would have been in yesterday morning."

The excuse – NBC feared comments from guests – never made sense.

The network could have booked the guests it did on the broadcast that replaced "Joe" on Monday. Secondly, hyper-partisan guests like Jen Pskai appeared throughout the day, including during the network's evening coverage of the Rebulcain National Convention. MSNBC also tasked Rachel Maddow, the queen of liberal media, to anchor primetime.

Translation: it wasn't the guests or partisanship that made NBC fear airing "Morning Joe" in the wake of the assassination attempt. It was Scarborough.

And for good reason.

No pundit on television has pushed the baseless and dangerous "Trump is Hitler" script more than Scarborough. Our friends at NewsBusters reviewed transcripts in found at least 14 separate occasions over the past two years in which "Morning Joe" either likened Trump to a dictator or called him a "threat to Democracy.

Trump is not Hitler. He is not a fascist. And he is not a threat to democracy.

Scarborough can whine about his bosses and play ignorant. But he has greatly contributed to the incendiary rhetoric that greatly plagues American society.
