Joe Scarborough Compares Kamala Harris To ‘Rocky Balboa,' Not Knowing Rocky Lost First Movie

Kamala Harris reminds MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough of Rocky Balboa.

"For children scared this morning, go back and see ‘Rocky,’" Scarborough said on Monday. "Trump was used to going against Biden, right? What have they done? They switched it up. It’ll be a southpaw now. Rocky is a southpaw."

Perhaps some MSNBC viewers will, in fact, tell their grandkids to watch "Rocky," per the advice of Scarborough. However, new "Rocky" viewers will report back to their elders thinking Harris is about to lose the election.

See, seemingly unbeknownst to Scarborough, Rocky Balboa loses his first fight in the 1976 classic. Balboa goes the distance but is ultimately left bloodied by a victorious Apollo Creed.

Let that sit for just a moment.

Then again, limousine liberals don't exactly strike us as the core demographic for Rocky Balboa movies.

Later, Scarborough claims Republicans are in an all-out panic about the prospects of facing Harris.

"I will tell you, the Republicans are there freaking out," he said. "I had heard from inside the Trump campaign for some time right now that the one thing Donald Trump feared was not having Joe Biden."

While we are skeptical that members of the Trump campaign speak to Scarborough, it's fair to deduce that Harris is a more formidable challenger than Biden.

As we argued last week – like a new football coach -- Harris will benefit from simply not being her predecessor. If nothing else, Harris would rejuvenate the base. She would likely increase voter turnout amid growing concerns within the party that previous Biden voters will stay home if he remains on the ticket.

I also discussed the "football coach" theory while guest hosting Fox News' "Will Cain Show" on Monday. You can watch/listen to the episode here.

The initial polling for Harris is stronger than it was for Biden. Still, she trails Trump in the following key battleground states, per PublicPolicyPolling: Pennsylvania (-6), Arizona (-8), Michigan (-2), and Wisconsin (-1).

Maybe that polling will change when the race card is unleashed. And, oh, it will be unleashed to assist in Harris' inevitable presidential campaign.

Finally, if Scarborough ever watched a "Rocky" film, and we doubt sure he has, we are confident in assuming "Rocky V" was his favorite…
