Jameis Winston's accuser reveals her story in new documentary

For the first time, the woman who has accused Jameis Winston of raping her is telling her story to the public.

In "The Hunting Ground," a documentary released last week at Sundance Film Festival, Erica Kinsman gives her perspective on the night she says Winston raped her in December 2012.

Kinsman reportedly describes her hellish experience at Florida State after the rape allegations became public, as Winston was leading the Seminoles to a national title while she was being called a slut and a whore by classmates. 

"I kind of just want to know -- why me?" Kinsman reportedly says in the film. "It doesn't really make sense."

In December 2013, State Attorney Willie Meggs concluded there wasn't enough evidence to charge Winston with sexual assault, and last month Winston was found not guilty of violating FSU's student code of conduct policy. Meggs appears on the documentary and says, "I think things that happened that night were not good."

The film makes news with Kinsman's first public comments, but it's not entirely based on the Winston case. "The Hunting Ground" is a fuller look at sexual assault on college campuses and is directed by Kirby Dick and producing partner Amy Ziering. The pair previously worked together on "The Invisible War," a documentary about rape in the U.S. military that earned an Oscar nomination in 2013 for Best Documentary.

CNN will air the documentary nationally in 2015 -- an official date hasn't been set -- and the film will also be released in theaters on March 20.
