Irishman Goes Wild On Flight To New York

A Delta flight traveling from Dublin to New York made an unexpected trip to the moon when 29-year-old Irishman Shane McInerney decided to, among other things, pull down his pants and show off his bare rear for all on board.

(He also refused to wear a mask, but for once, that wasn't the most pressing issue.)

McInerney of Galway, Ireland was headed to Florida by way of a stopover in New York, to begin working at a stateside soccer academy. Rather than wait to enjoy a little taste of freedom in the Sunshine State, McInerney opted instead to get his kicks at 30,000 feet.

McInerney was charged with interfering with a flight crew’s duties and intentionally assaulting and intimidating a member of a flight crew.

The January 7th flight had all the makings of a one-man frat party. According to The Guardian, the would-be soccer coach “repeatedly refused to wear a mask, threw a beverage can and hit a passenger in the head, and ‘pulled down his pants and underwear and mooned a flight attendant and passengers.’"

That’s the kind of douche-tastic trifecta that can be accomplished only after consuming 10 draft beers, huffing glue, or trying to get a TikTok follow back from Jackson Mahomes.

Once the flight landed at New York’s JFK Airport, McInerney was admitted to Jamaica Hospital for a psych evaluation. He then was released on $20,000 bond and faces up to 20 years in prison, if convicted.

So much for the American football coaching gig.

In the event his in-flight actions lead to time behind bars, he might want to curb that penchant for dropping his drawers. Mooning an audience in the joint usually has stiffer consequences than anything the FAA can throw at him.
