Georgia Dominates Vanderbilt In Front Of 'Home Crowd' In Nashville

It turns out Georgia was playing a home game today in Nashville, yes you read that right. We all know that when the Dawgs play at Vanderbilt, the stands are usually filled with red. One thing that was also obvious during the first half was the Dawgs offensive output.

The Dores were embarrassed by the Georgia offense during the first 30 minutes of a 62-0 rout. We'll get to the offense in a second, but Georgia's defense was incredible, even though they were playing a bad Vanderbilt team. The Dawgs defense held Vandy to 50 yards on 25 plays, which helped the offense take a 38-0 lead into halftime.

Georgia came into the game as a 35.5 point favorite, according to FanDuel.com.

In the first quarter, JT Daniels was 9-10 for 121 yards and two touchdowns. The Dawgs offense put up 5 TDs on 20 offensive plays, which is incredible. Even without Darnell Washington, the Georgia offense didn't miss a beat at the TE position. Freshman Brock Bowers had 3 catches for 40 yards and 1 TD.

The Georgia defense scored 14 of their points off two forced turnovers from the defense. Getting back to the defense, they held Vanderbilt to 1 first down, 2 completions and 50 yards of total offense in the first half. The Georgia front seven are going to be hard to handle this season, even if today looked like a scrimmage.

The 2nd half for Georgia looked the same as the 1st half, as they dominated the helpless Dores. The Dawgs stuck with Stetson Bennett, who finished the game 11-15, for 151 yards and 1 touchdown. The Dawgs defense was just as dominating in the final 30 minutes, holding the Dores to 53 yards rushing.

This game was never going to be close, but the dominance from the Dawgs defense is what should scare opposing teams this season. The Dores were held to 77 total yards, while Georgia racked up 532 yards on the day.

Next week could be where Georgia is potentially tested, again. Arkansas heads to Athens for a showdown that features former OL coach and current Razorbacks HC Sam Pittman.

Today, Georgia took another step towards the SEC Championship, with another stellar performance.
