Georgia Destroys Arkansas, Making Another Statement To The College Football World

Heading into the game today in Athens, many folks around the country, including myself, thought Georgia would be tested today. Well, it turns out the Dawgs made another statement to the college football world. The Arkansas Razorbacks came into today's game at 4-0 on the season, coming off wins against Texas and Texas A&M. So, it was logical to think they could turn this into a game for four quarters. But, today's performance proved Georgia is on a different level this year.

It wasn't hard to think that the Razorbacks could make this one interesting, especially with how they played against Texas A&M, where they dominated the Aggies. But today, Georgia decided to run the football all over the Razorbacks, finishing the game with 273 yards and 3 TD's on the ground. You couldn't ask for a better performance from the Georgia offensive line, as they pushed around the Hogs.

This was one of those performances you look back on at the end of the season and think about how the Dawgs set the tone. As for the quarterback situation, well they didn't really need Stetson Bennett to do anything but hand it off today, which says a lot. The Dawgs entered the game without their starting QB JT Daniels, which would usually cause folks to put a little doubt in the game. Not today, as Stetson Bennett found his receivers when needed, but only through for 72 yards. Think about that for a minute. The winning team only needed their QB to attempt eleven passes, which he completed seven. In what world would you think a team would have a chance against the #8 team in the nation. Well, that was today's world in Athens and if he had only attempted one pass, it would've still worked.

The Dawgs jumped out to a 24-point lead, thanks in part to rushing touchdowns from Zamir White and Kendall Milton. But the key play that seemed to flip a switch was the punt block recovery for a touchdown by Zamir White. This is the moment where Georgia took it to the next level and never looked back.

If you watched the Georgia defensive line today, you most certainly noticed Jordan Davis, who continued to clog up the running lanes for Arkansas. As if that wasn't enough, Devonte Wyatt forced a fumble, had a sack and finished with six tackles, which was a team-high. There is something about this defensive unit that keeps you watching, whether it be the size or speed, they're always causing disruption in the backfield. Just ask K.J. Jefferson, who finished the game 8-13 for 65 yards, while getting sacked four times.

I doubt Sam Pittman thought his team would be held to just 162 yards of total offense.

If you were looking for the most complete team in the country, with a quarterback situation I might add, then look no further than Georgia. This team has the ability to beat you on the ground or through the air, when needed. But as you noticed today, a group effort at running back led them to the victory.

One would wonder which team in the SEC could cause them problems, with the only team coming to mind right now being the Florida Gators. So, when Georgia gets JT Daniels back at QB, this team will become the most dangerous team in the country, if they aren't already. But, judging by today's performance, I feel bad for the teams left on the Dawgs schedule.

Unfortunately, it can only get worse from here for the SEC East, as Georgia continues to dominate the competition.
