Fresno State Women's Basketball Twins Ink Deal With WWE

Fresno State women's basketball players Haley and Hanna Cavinder have inked a deal with WWE as part of the WWE’s inaugural NIL program, “Next In Line.”

Sports Business Journal reports student-athletes will earn compensation ranging from "low five-figures up to six-figures," in exchange for the creation of "social media posts plugging WWE and make appearances at WWE events."

The deals do not mean that athletes are "committed to join the WWE once their college athletic careers end." 

The Cavinder twins said they "never saw Smackdown in their futures," but once they started looking into WWE, a partnership "made sense," according to TIME's Sean Gregory.

Earlier this month, the WWE unveiled 15 college athletes who will be among the first to participate in the company’s new NIL program providing a pathway from collegiate athletics to WWE, Sports Business Journal reports.

The inaugural “Next In Line” class includes athletes from 13 universities, seven NCAA conferences, and four sports.

All athlete partnerships will feature access to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and resources across the organization — upon completion of the NIL program, select athletes may earn a WWE contract.

The Cavinder twins signed marketing deals to represent Boost Mobile and Six Star in July and PSD Underwear in October.
