Elon Musk Moving X, SpaceX Headquarters Out Of California Over Transgender Law
It's been a long time coming, but Elon Musk is pulling the rest of his businesses out of California. Congrats Gavin Newsom!
And it's all thanks to a new, extremely far-left AB1955 bill that Newsom signed on Monday. The bill, which naturally had the full support of the Democratic supermajority in the California legislature, essentially bans school districts from having policies requiring parental notification if children begin transitioning at schools. If social media, peer pressure, or activist teachers begin influencing susceptible young children into believing they're a different gender, parents can't be notified.
It's a disgraceful bill; an inexcusable law that removes the ability for parents to be involved in their children's behavior. With potentially catastrophic consequences. And Elon Musk is taking a stand against it.
Musk posted on X Tuesday afternoon that the law is the "final straw" for him to move his companies out of the state.
"This is the final straw," he said. "Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California to Starbase, Texas."
In case there were any remaining doubts, Musk said he warned Newsom of the consequences of signing and passing extremist bills. Newsom didn't listen.
"I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children," Musk posted.
Gavin Newsom Keeps Pushing People To Leave California
This bill is an affront to parents and families and fundamentally changes the relationship between the state and individuals. Gavin Newsom and the extreme, far left California legislature have unilaterally decided that the government and school teachers should be able to make decisions instead of parents. Even with young children.
It's indefensible; there is no reasonable or rational justification for the state deciding it knows better when it comes to this type of behavior. But Newsom has never been accused of being reasonable or rational, which is why he's so unpopular, even in California.
A June survey found that 52 percent of Californians did not approve of the job Newsom has done in California. That number rose to 54 percent among households with children. And that was before this atrocious affront to families passed. Newsom's atrocious performance has also pushed people out of the state in record numbers; for the first time in the state's history, it's continuously lost population since 2020.
Musk also said that he's taking the X headquarters out of California too, fleeing San Francisco for Austin.
"Have had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building," he said.
It's yet another sign of California's decline; despite having an almost unbelievable amount of natural advantages, decades of progressive leadership has worked to erode all of them, forcing residents, families, and important, influential companies to leave. Clearly, despite years of failure and unpopularity, Newsom hasn't learned his lesson. And he never will.
