Can Missouri Catch Texas A&M Sleepwalking On Saturday?

We all witnessed one of the wildest games in college football in College Station last weekend, as Texas A&M took down Alabama in a monumental upset. So, the question for the Aggies now is how they will respond against Missouri on Saturday.

When you look at this Missouri football team, it's hard not to get past the bad defense that the Tigers have played this season. Last week, they gave up 493 total yards to North Texas, though they won 48-35. So, when you look at this football team, you have to wonder how they could keep up with the Aggies.

The secret has been out for a while now: Missouri is just horrid on defense, but that doesn't mean they couldn't potentially pull an upset by just winning in a shootout. Don't forget, this is the same Aggies team that lost to Mississippi State the week prior to beating Alabama. Crazy things happen, which is why this matchup shouldn't just be glossed over.

It felt as though we saw the emergence of a new quarterback in the SEC, as Zach Calzada led the Aggies on multiple scoring drives against Alabama, which made Jimbo Fisher look like a genius for the one night. But we can't forget about the team they were before the Alabama game, which looked puzzled at times and struggled to find consistency on both sides of the ball. We also can't overlook what Connor Bazelak can do with the football, no matter the 3-3 record on the season.

This football game could come down to Missouri having success on the ground with Tyler Badie, who has rushed for eight touchdowns this season. Bazelak has also thrown for 1,690 yards and 12 TDs, which shouldn't go unnoticed. If this game is going to be entertaining in the 4th quarter, the Tigers will have to start making plays on defense, which they've struggled to do all season.

It's not crazy to think Texas A&M comes into this game thinking they will just roll Missouri, but the Aggies were riding a two-game losing streak before suddenly upsetting the Tide last weekend, which makes this game even more interesting. I don't know if I trust the Aggies yet, as they will have to prove they can play like that again. I understand the college football community is loving the Aggies at the moment, but let's not forget that they frequently play down to opponents.

The Tigers should feel a bit energized this weekend, as they have the opportunity to bring the Aggies back down to reality.

On the other hand, Texas A&M could just roll into Columbia and pounce on the Tigers' defense and head back to College Station 5-2 on the season.
