Barstool Sports Has A Bowl Game And Stewart Mandel Is Whining About It
Earlier this afternoon, Barstool Sports announced that they're getting into the college football bowl biz. Beginning this December, Dave Portnoy's brand will be the exclusive sponsor and broadcast partner of the Barstool Arizona Bowl. Upon hearing the news, Stewart Mandel wasted no time establishing himself as "get off my lawn" guy.
*Editor's note- I'll speak for Joe Kinsey and say that even though he's a (get off my) lawn guy, Mandel is not welcome in the TNML.
After it was pointed out that ESPN has allowed the dollar to dictate the last decade of college football, Mandel attempted to praise the four letter network while taking a shot at Barstool.
Unfortunately for Mandel, he missed (badly), then got dunked on by Barstool's PFT Commenter:
For those (apparently like Mandel) who aren't familiar with PFT's suggested reading, the book details rampant sexual harassment, racism and an overall toxic environment within the walls of ESPN.
Mandel spent the rest of day serving as a punching bag for El Presidente and countless others:
In a perfect world Mandel, The Athletic's college football editor in chief will draw the assignment of covering the inaugural Barstool Arizona Bowl. If so, we have just the book for him to read on the flight over.
