Barrett Sallee and Dan Wolken Twitter Beef Got Heated

The country is a powder keg right now for a variety of reasons that don't really need to be summarized here. When tensions run high, Twitter beefs abound, and we've got a heated one on our hands between USA Today columnist Dan Wolken and CBS/SiriusXM college football personality Barrett Sallee (Al.com producer Matt Scalici was also in the mix).

Wolken wrote a column asking if college football offensive linemen have greater risks for dire coronavirus outcomes because they are categorized as obese due to their weights:






The cascade of negative responses arguing that these athletes' age and physical fitness attributes supersede their weights when you look at how risky they are led to this thread in which Sallee called Wolken a clout chaser, Wolken made a threat not to cross the line of questioning his motives, and Sallee doubled down on his position.
