Allegedly Drunk, Definitely Naked Woman Drives Golf Cart Into Tense Police Standoff

Where can you find a naked woman, a golf cart and a police standoff all in one place? That's easy. Florida, of course. In what should surprise no one, the Sunshine State was the scene of a six-hour police standoff that was ultimately interrupted by a drunk woman joyriding a golf cart in the nude.

Sounds like a page right out of the John Daly memoirs.

Over the weekend, police in Dunedin, Florida flocked to a home that was housing an armed suspect on the run, 18-year-old Myles Abbott. The suspect allegedly fired shots at locals then ran from authorities, climbed a roof and pointed a gun at local law enforcement. Abbott's actions resulted in a nearly six-hour standoff with police.

Amidst the chaos, 28-year-old Jessica Smith from Boston, zipped by numerous police vehicles, ignored police commands to leave, and ultimately placed herself well within the scene of the standoff.

According to Fox 13 of Tampa Bay, an incident affidavit said: "(Smith had) a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person, and she was completely nude."

Sheriff's deputies were forced to pull the intoxicated Smith from the golf cart and place her in handcuffs. "The defendant’s actions and inability to follow directions put multiple deputies at risk for potentially getting shot at," said the affidavit.

Naked and well lubricated, Smith was charged with resisting an officer without violence.

Abbott's standoff with police ended with considerably more clothes and more serious charges. He was hit with loitering and prowling, aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, weapons charges and resisting an officer without violence.
