A New NCAA Football 2020 Game Could Turn This Miserable Year Around

ESPN sent out a tweet Monday morning asking video game fans which sports franchise they would want to see revived. College football’s last sports installment. Predictably, NCAA Football 14, echoed throughout the replies.

NCAA Football was able to capture aspects of sports that neither Madden nor any other franchise could: tradition. “Online Dynasty” immediately comes to mind for most fans of the installment. It allowed you to build a winning tradition at the school of your choice. 

Plenty sports franchises have tried and failed to replicate the mode with Madden’s “Ultimate Team” and MLB The Show’s “Diamond Dynasty." None could match the success because they weren’t involved in the tradition of college sports.

NCAA Football focused on tradition and gameplay, while other sports games worry about in-game purchases and graphics. 

Nothing beats the rush to find out the rating of your favorite team’s top incoming recruit. Nothing ever will. 

This is why NCAA Football 14 remains relevant in 2020 despite the new games at our disposal. 

In May of this past year, NCAA's board of governors agreed to support college athlete’s ability to get paid off their likeness. This should shift EA Sports, the NCAA Football’s game developers, to push along a potential remake of the franchise. 

2020 has been a miserable year for just about everyone, but EA Sports just might be able to pick up the pieces if they dropped a future NCAA Football installment on our heads.
