AP Top 25: No. 3 Alabama Jumps Oklahoma, Penn State Falls

Previously ranked No. 4 Alabama (7-1) landed the No. 3 spot in Week 9's AP Top 25 Poll released Sunday after a 52-24 win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.

No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (7-0) remain in the top spot for the third straight week, as the No. 2 Cincinnati Bearcats (7-0) remain in the second spot.

The previously ranked No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners (8-0) fell one spot after the Sooners were shut out in the first half against Kansas before scoring 35 in the second half and pulling away late. Oklahoma came away with a nondominant 35-23 victory on Saturday.

No. 5 Ohio State (6-1), beating Indiana 54-7, and No. 6 Michigan (7-0), dominating Northwestern 33-7, both held their spots.

Previously ranked No. 10 Oregon (6-1) moved up three spots to No. 7 after beating UCLA (5-3) 34-31 on Saturday.

No. 8 Michigan State (7-0), No. 9 Iowa (6-1) and No. 10 Mississippi (6-1) round out the top 10.

Previously ranked No. 7 Penn State dropped 13 spots to No. 20 after losing in a record nine overtime periods to Illinois. Oklahoma State fell from No. 8 to No. 15 after losing at Iowa State, the AP reports.
