After Video Shows Biden Border Crisis, FAA Creates No Fly Zone Over Bridge Area

Fox reporter Bill Melugin, who's been covering the crisis along the southern border for the last seven months, and his team were doing their jobs Thursday when they showed migrants congregating at the international bridge in Del Rio, Texas. As a result of their video journalism, an order came down from the FAA: a drone restriction.

Melugin reports that the FAA hit Fox News and any other news organization flying drones over the bridge to show the mass of migrants with a TFR (Temporary Flight Restrictions) order and used "special security reasons" as its excuse for the order.

“The Border Patrol requested the temporary flight restriction due to drones interfering with law enforcement flights on the border. As with any temporary flight restriction, media is able to call the FAA to make requests to operate in the area,” the FAA told Melugin in a statement.

Talk about interesting timing from the FAA.

Melugin reported that a crowd estimated at 8,200 had gathered and was awaiting processing into the United States. That number had doubled from Wednesday and was described to Melugin as "out of control."

Friday hasn't brought any better news for the Biden administration. Melugin tweeted video of migrants pouring across a dam along the Rio Grande River. A crowd estimated to be around 10,000 was making its way to the international bridge where the crowd of 8,200 is hanging out waiting to see what the U.S. will do with them.

As of noon Friday, Melugin reported that authorities are preparing for a crowd upwards of 20,500 to spend Friday night at the bridge.
