Ole Miss, Mississippi State Have Higher Attendance Than The Fvcking Yankees

Mississippi ended its statewide COVID-19 restrictions, and don't look know, but Ole Miss and Mississippi State baseball teams are rivaling some storied MLB teams in terms of attendance because of it, as the Clarion Ledger relayed.

And yes, that includes the New York Yankees.

"Across six SEC contests, Swayze Field has hosted an average of 10,302 fans. That would make Ole Miss the No. 13 most attended team in MLB, just behind the Chicago Cubs and just ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies and both the Yankees and Mets," the Ledger reported.

Ole Miss also brought in an average of nearly 33,5000 fans for its home series vs. Arkansas last weekend. Per the Ledger, that made it the most-attended three-game series in Rebels history.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State has kept pace with many MLB teams in 2021. Through six home games, Mississippi State has hosted an average of 4,641 fans.

"In 2019, Mississippi State's average attendance for a home SEC game was 9,979," the Ledger reported. "Attendance for Super Bulldog Weekend, which will be held this weekend as well, was 10,030."

The Yankees and the majority of other MLB teams are allowing only limited attendance. In the Yankees' case, it's 20% capacity, or a maximum of 10,850 fans.

So when it comes to watching baseball live, the SEC is where it's at. Yankee Stadium, well, not so much.
